How a job runs
The person who answers the phone does not need the story. Whether the scene has been released, whether anyone is at the property and what kind of contamination it is are enough to send the right crew. If you want an unmarked vehicle, say so. If you would rather hand over a key than walk through, that is fine too.
On site the technicians contain the affected area before anything is moved, then write the scope: what will be removed, what will be cleaned, what the odor plan is and what it costs. The work starts when you have agreed to it. Removed material is sealed in regulated medical waste containers and leaves with a licensed transporter under a manifest; hard surfaces are disinfected and tested with an ATP meter before the containment comes down.
You get the records at the end: photographs taken for the file, the itemized scope, the disposal manifest and the ATP readings. Those are the documents an insurer or a victim compensation program asks for, and they are yours whether or not you make a claim.
What we say no to
We do not quote a price over the phone, because contamination has to be seen to be scoped. We do not tell you what your policy covers; the adjuster does that. We do not clean over material that has soaked into a layer underneath, and we do not put biohazard waste into a dumpster. If a job needs a plumber, a pest control company or a rebuild contractor, we say so.
